8 year-old boy suffers leg injuries in dog attack in Grimsby

An 8-year-old boy has reportedly been bitten by a dog inside a property on Rutland Street in Grimsby.

Police were called out around 4.45pm yesterday (Wednesday 15 May).

The boy was taken to hospital to receive medical treatment after suffering injuries to his leg, which are not thought to be life threatening at this time.

Detective Inspector Scott Miller said:

“We are working closely with the boy’s family to understand the circumstances surrounding the incident.

“At this stage, the breed of dog is believed to be a pocket bully and it has been seized as part of our enquiries.”

East Midlands Ambulance Service have said:

“At 16:40 on Thursday 15 May we responded to an emergency call at a private address in Grimsby.

"We dispatched an ambulance and the air ambulance. One patient was conveyed to Sheffield Children’s Hospital via air ambulance.”
