The Killers performed their seminal 2003 anthem ‘Mr Brightside’ on a Las Vegas Strip rooftop last night (21st September).
The band’s rousing rendition of their signature tune was broadcast during the halftime interval in the American football game between Las Vegas Raiders and New Orleans Saints.
Ahead of the performance, local lad Brandon Flowers says to the camera: “It’s our pleasure to welcome the Raiders to fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada... I think we've got just the song for the occasion.”
The Killers then proceeded to belt out ‘Mr Brightside’ with great aplomb with the brightly-lit casinos and hotels of the Las Vegas Strip providing the backdrop.

Over at the Allegiant Stadium Las Vegas Raiders went on to triumph against New Orleans Saints 34-24 in their home opener. Just like football matches over here, American football games are being played in empty stadia due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Formed in Las Vegas in 2001, The Killers are one of the most successful acts to ever emerge from Nevada, with 28 million albums sold.
Featuring the Absolute Radio playlisted gems ‘Caution’ and ‘My Own Soul's Warning’, The Killers’ sixth studio album ‘Imploding the Mirage’ was released on Friday 21st August and it stormed straight in at number one on the UK album chart.
Back in the spring, The Killers rescheduled their summer 2021 Imploding the Mirage UK stadium tour until May and June 2021 because of the coronavirus pandemic. Blossoms, Manic Street Preachers and Sam Fender take turns supporting The Killers at the concerts.
