Irish actor Paul Mescal is having a pretty bumper year so far. Not only has he basically shot to fame overnight since starring in Normal People earlier this year, he's now been nominated for an Emmy for the role and also has a new TV series out this week called The Deceived.

But the highlight of his year so far will surely be starring in the brand new music video for 'Scarlet' by The Rolling Stones, originally recorded in 1974. The song will appear on a reedited re-release of the band's 1973 album 'Goats Head Soup'.

Confirming his appearance in the music video earlier this week, the band have now released the music video in full - starring Paul, who basically gets drunk and dances around Claridge's hotel in London living his best life. All filmed in a socially-distanced way, of course.

The band posted a 17-second teaser for the video on Monday 3rd August, writing, 'The official video for Scarlet featuring Paul Mescal will premiere this Thursday 7pm BST / 11am PST on the Rolling Stones YouTube Channel.'

They also revealed that the premiere will include 'a very special introduction from @mickjagger & @mescal_paul you won’t want to miss,' so that's a must-see if ever we heard one.

The 24-year-old actor retweeted the announcement, simply adding, 'Out this Thursday!' as a comment above it.

The original recording of 'Scarlet' features Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page, and will appear on the reedited version of 'Goats Head Soup' which will be released on 4th September.

This news comes after Paul's performance with Dermot Kennedy last Thursday (30th July) at London's Natural History Museum, where he took to the stage with spoken word pieces in between songs sang by Dermot.
