Supergrass say Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert was their last show 'for the foreseeable future'

Supergrass say they won’t be performing live ‘for the foreseeable future’ following their stellar set at the Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert at London’s Wembley Stadium on Saturday (3rd September).
One of the many standout acts at the Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert, Supergrass performed 'Richard III', 'Alright' and 'Caught By The Fuzz', while singer Gaz Coombes also covered David Bowie’s ‘Modern Love’ with Nile Rodgers.
The late-great Taylor Hawkins was a huge Supergrass fan and regarded their third studio album, ‘Supergrass’, as “one of the all-time best.” He also performed ‘Caught By The Fuzz’ live with Supergrass when they supported Foo Fighters in 2003.
Taking to Twitter yesterday (5th September), Supergrass bassist and founding member Mick Quinn reflected on the very special concert and also confirmed it was the band’s last gig for a while.
Quinn wrote: “Just starting to come down from @taylorhawkinsofficial tribute show. Love this shot by @radar59 of us about to take the stage for the last time for the foreseeable future.
“@foofighters did a phenomenal job pulling it all together. A stellar, emotional evening of ❤️ for Taylor.”
Singer Gaz Coombes has also commented on the Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert, saying: "It was a beautiful night. I sang Modern Love with Nile Rodgers and it was just one of the most incredible moments of my life. I mean, that song means a lot to me. It was a song that was a big part of my wedding.
"To be able to sing it with Nile Rodgers at Wembley Stadium was quite something. I will never forget it. And what an amazing day for Taylor, what an incredible celebration for Taylor.
"I couldn't imagine that it would be like that but being there on the day and seeing how it all came together, all the work that was put into it, all the love in Wembley Stadium, it was kind of overwhelming.
"I think if he was looking down, Taylor, he would kind of say, 'Dude, what's all the fuss!' But he'd be like, 'Oh my God, this is insane'."
Supergrass reformed in 2019 after almost a decade away and they’ve performed at a number of festivals this summer including Kendal Calling.
