The A81 at Port of Menteith remains closed tonight after a school bus caught fire earlier.

The double decker was taking children home from McLaren High School to Aberfoyle when the blaze broke out around 4pm.

Police and fire crews attended before putting the blaze out - Stirling Council say no one was injured and all children got home safely.

It's unclear at this point what caused the fire.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said:

"Officers were made aware of a bus on fire on the A81 near Port of Menteith, Stirling at around 4.10pm on Wednesday, 22 June, 2022.

"Emergency services attended and the fire was extinguished."
