A Glasgow family has found a way to make lockdown more exciting for their young children.

Clare-Marie and Callum Macaulay opened up a pretend restaurant inside the house for the night, as their 2 and 5-year old sons were asking to go out to a restaurant for dinner and didn't understand why they couldn't.

5-year old Evan and 2-year old Lucas were filmed by their parents as they turned up at the house and were taken to their reserved table - where Callum and Clare-Marie printed out menus and cooked them a three course meal.

Callum Macaulay's video of the dining experience at 'Mummy and Daddy's restaurant' has been watched over half a million times on social media.

Speaking to Clyde News, Callum said: "I suggested to my wife, Clare-Marie, that we have a date night - just me and her and we get dressed up just to try and get some real life experience back into our lives.

"She said, being the mum that she is, why don't we do it for the boys and we pretend that we're in a restaurant?

"We've had so many people comment and just say how nice it's made them feel and how happy they've been and some of them have been in tears.

"I think just with what's going on in the world it's nice to bring a smile to people's faces."
