A care home in Paisley is using Facebook to keep its residents connected with their families and friends.

Elderslie Care Home is locked down because of the coronavirus outbreak.

Staff are taking pictures of the residents holding up hand-written notes, and sharing them on social media.

Manager Julie Thompson said: "It's just to reassure them that they're doing okay.

"It's unprecedented circumstances, so we're having to be inventive and think outside the box to get messages out to relatives and the local community.

"Our residents have been really keen to get the message out.

"Our families have been so pleased to see happy, smiling residents, and to see that care is continuing as normal."
