Detectives in Glasgow are appealing for information after a trailer was set on fire in a yard, causing around £80,000 worth of damage.

It happened in the Swanston Street area overnight between Thursday 23rd - Friday 24th June.

The trailer contained a section of a fairground ride, which has been significantly damaged as part of the blaze.

Police say they are looking to identify four young people seen around the area at the time of the incident.

They are described as being two boys and two girls, all around 14 or 15-years-old.

Detective Constable Ross McGill, from Shettleston CID, said:

“This fire caused a great deal of damage to the trailer and its contents, although it’s fortunate it didn’t spread even further and cause more destruction.

“We are appealing for anyone with information to come forward. We’re also keen to speak with the four young people who were in the area, so would appeal for them to come forward or for anyone who can identify them to do so.

“If you believe you can assist our enquiries, please call police on 101, quoting incident 0155 of 24 June. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, if you wish to remain anonymous.”
