Police have seized nearly £300,000 worth of cannabis after a late-night car stop near Glasgow.

Acting on intelligence, they pulled over a vehicle on the M73 near Ballieston on Friday just after 9pm and also discovered £10,000 in cash.

They arrested a charged a 30-year-old man.

Officers then raided a house in Cumbernauld in the early hours of this morning and found more cannabis

The arrested man is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, 29 April, 2024.

Sergeant Barry Jones said: “Drugs cause misery in our communities and taking drugs off the street is a priority for Police Scotland.
