Two women 'hit by car' after crash in Clydebank as man arrested

Two women were allegedly hit by a car in Clydebank in the early hours of this morning.
Emergency services were called after a collision was reported at around 1.20am on Great Western Road in Drumry.
A 22-year-old pedestrian suffered from serious injuries and a second woman, aged 26, suffered from minor injuries.
Both individuals were taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.
Police have confirmed a 44-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident, but an investigation remains ongoing.
The road was closed as enquiries were carried out but it has since reopened.
Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting incident 0291 of October 3.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of a collision involving a car and two pedestrians on Great Western Road in Glasgow around 1.20am on Sunday, 3 October.
“The incident happened near a service station approximately 300m east of the roundabout junction with Drumry Road.
“A 22-year-old woman suffered serious injuries and a 26-year-old woman suffered a minor injury. Both were taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.
“A 44-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing.
“Anyone with information relating to the crash can call 101, quoting incident 0291 of 3 October."
