The countdown is finally over as The Tartan Army head over to Germany for the Euros 2024, and despite Steve Clarke's Scotland team being in a tough group, excitement is rife across the country.

With Euro 2024 starting on Friday 14h June, Scotland's preparations have been in full swing for the tournament, which is sure to unite the country as we all get behind Clarke and the boys. Here's everything you need to know about Scotland at Euro 2024, including who has made it into the squad.

When does Euro 2024 start?

The UEFA EURO 2024 tournament begins on Friday 14th June, with the competition running until Sunday 14th July 2024.

Who is in Scotland's group at the Euros?

Scotland have been drawn in Group A alongside Hungary, Switzerland, and hosts Germany.

When do Scotland play?

Scotland will play the opening game at this year's competition against hosts Germany.

What are the groups at the Euros?

The draw for this year's tournament took place in Germany on 2nd December last year, featuring 24 teams.

Group A: Germany, Scotland, Hungary, Switzerland

Group B: Spain, Croatia, Italy, Albania

Group C: Slovenia, Denmark, Serbia, England

Group D: Poland, Netherlands, Austria, France

Group E: Belgium, Slovakia, Romania, Ukraine

Scotland's Euros 2024 squad:

Manager Steve Clarke named a 28-man preliminary squad for Scotland's two pre-tournament friendlies on Wednesday 22nd May, before naming his 26-man squad on Friday 7th June.

Striker Lyndon Dykes has since been ruled-out of the Euros after being stretched off during training.

Who is the Scotland football manager?

Former Scotland, St Mirren and Chelsea player Steve Clarke has been in charge of the Scotland national team since May 2019.

Ahead of the qualifying stages for the 2024 Euros, Clarke signed a new contract with the SFA until 2026.

Clarke currently has a win % record of 47.1% with Scotland, with the manager leading the team to Euro 2024 qualification in style, with two matches to spare.

Where is Euro 2024 being held?

Germany will host the 17th UEFA European Championship in 2024, with games being held across 10 different cities. Games will take place in Berlin, Cologne, Munich, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Dortmund, Leipzig, Gelsenkirchen, Stuttgart and Düsseldorf.

Where are Scotland based in Germany?

In January 2024, manager Steve Clarke confirmed their team base camp for the Euros is in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The team are staying at Obermuhle, a 120-room luxury resort that combines modern specification and alpine lifestyle with the tradition of being a family-owned establishment for the last century.

Clarke told scottishfa.co.uk: "It was important for us to finalise our preparations for Euro 2024 as soon as possible and I'm very pleased to have confirmed our final friendly matches and secured our first-choice base camp for the tournament.

"Garmisch-Partenkirchen will make for a comfortable base for our players and backroom staff for the duration of our stay at the tournament and the warm welcome we have received from the local community so far bodes well for when we are in camp there this summer."

What does Scotland's new strip look like?

The brand new Adidas home and away Scotland strips were unveiled on Thursday 14th March, with tartan taking centre stage .

Who is favourite to win the Euros?

Before a ball had even been kicked, bookies put neighbours England as favourites alongside France to be crowned the winners at 7/2 with Germany, Spain and Portugal not far behind.

Scotland are currently 80/1 to win the tournament.

When is the Euro 2024 final?

The final is scheduled to take place at 8pm (UK time) on Sunday 14th July at Olympiastadion Berlin.

Actress Anne Hathaway let slip during an interview in 2024 that she is a huge fan of London club Arsenal. Anne couldn't hide her excitement mid-interview when Leandro Trossard scored a late winner for the Gunners. After the footage went rival, Trossard sent a video message to Anne, leaving her 'shaking'.

AJ Tracey - Tottenham

'West Ten' rapper AJ Tracey is a massive Spurs fan! Not only did he perform at the club's 2019 Nike kit launch, he's also been spotted in the crown and in the dressing rooms, getting photos with plays such as Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Son Heung-min.

Drake - Chelsea

Drake is a massive Chelsea fan and even had a kick about with the team before a Champions League match back in 2012.


The rapper was later photographed in the dressing room with Chelsea legends such as John Terry, Ashley Cole and Didier Drogba.

Liam Payne - West Brom

Liam Payne was often spotted attending West Brom games during his time in One Direction, and when his son Bear Grey Payne was born in 2017, the club even mocked up a little shirt for him - cute!

Aitch - Manchester United
