The crew handed over donations from their hugely successful ‘Real Firefighters’ calendar for 2017.

Sixteen male and female volunteers from the airport’s rescue and fire-fighting service all got involved and nominated Cash for Kids as their chosen beneficiary.

The final total raised was £11,288.29. ‘Cool Nights’ presenter Melissa Riddell gratefully accepted the contribution, with 100% of the total going to help local disadvantaged children.

Watch Commander Evan Taylor assisted by firefighter and keen photographer, Jim McGann led the project. Evan said his crew all rolled up their sleeves and enjoyed getting involved.

“I’ve seen a few firefighter calendars before, most using models so I wanted to make an exciting calendar with REAL Airport Firefighters showing them off in their working environment.” He said.

He added: “The project has been great fun, with a strong team ethos, and with the help and support of everyone involved, we’ve produced an exclusive Real Firefighters Calendar that won’t disappoint!”

“It was a lot of fun making the calendar with a great group who weren’t in the least bit camera-shy or reluctant."
