Former One Direction star Niall Horan took some time out of his busy blossoming solo career to talk life without the band, celebrity friendships and taking time out for his favourite hobby, golf.

The Irish singer songwriter told Curtis McCosh his promo run has been hectic since going out on his own but confessed he misses his bandmates.

"It's been mad, I've done 35 radio station visits in 17 days," he said.

The 23-year-old Mullingar man chatted about his emotional performance at the One Love Manchester gig and paid tribute to his friend and concert organiser Ariana Grande.

The American singer was the brains behind the benefit concert, raising funds for all the victims and families of those injured in the Manchester terror attack. Niall says he was one of the first acts to be asked to perform and jumped at the opportunity to feature for such a “good cause.”

Music aside, one of Niall's other loves is of course golf. Last summer he impressed Holywood golfer Rory McIlroy with his skills when he played in the Pro-Am tournament at the Irish open.

The 23-year-old told Curtis he plans to visit Northern Ireland in the near future to attend the Northern Irish Open at Galgorm Castle:

"It won't be too long until I'm in Belfast, I'm coming over in a few months.

"My golf company we started a golf tournament, the Northern Irish Open over there in Galgorm Castle."

Niall released his first solo single ‘slow hands’ this week. He said his sound is inspired by 80s funk and rock and revealed his new album is due to be released before Christmas.
