We've just unveiled our brand-new weekend line up with a host of familiar faces and voices and a few new faces added into the mix.

The new line-up includes the introduction of a brand-new weekly Top 40 Sunday chart show which is specifically tailored to Northern Ireland. NI Hit 40 is presented by DJ Hix and counts down NI’s biggest 40 songs of the week based on downloads, streams and tags, making sure NI listeners are hearing their favourite tunes.

A new voice to the station is current Miss Northern Ireland, Katharine Walker who is joining the Cool Saturday Show with Stuart Robinson and Deputy Dave. As Northern Ireland’s biggest weekend radio show with over 100,000 listeners – the programme features pop hits, phone ins, competitions and a little bit of banter to kick start the weekend.

When asked about her new venture with Cool FM Katharine said,

“I am absolutely thrilled to be joining the team at Cool FM, especially Stuart and Deputy Dave for the Cool Saturday Show. I’ve always dreamt of a career in presenting so this really is a dream come true and I can’t thank Cool FM enough for giving me this opportunity.

“On top of being Miss Northern Ireland I am also a children’s nurse at the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children , so I am very used to early starts. I hope Stuart and Deputy Dave are ready for me to be extra bright and breezy on Saturday mornings.”

Completing Cool FM’s new spring schedule are DJ’s Mark Wesley and Glen Pavis who have re-joined the station to front a brand-new extended classics show ‘The Cool Years’ on Sunday mornings from 10am-1pm. The duo was known for their popular daytime and Saturday night dance shows during the 90’s and 00’s and are retuning for the new show which celebrates the very best in music from these decades.

“As Northern Ireland’s leading commercial station, Cool FM is constantly looking at ways to keep our programmes fresh and relevant for our listeners. These new additions to the station all bring something different and will add to our brilliant schedule of experienced presenters and new broadcasting talent.”
