Cool FM reveals exciting new weekend line-up

We've got a secret to share 🎉

This week will bring the first day of school for many across Northern Ireland. And here at Cool FM it's no different, we've got some exciting new voices we'd like to you hear.

We're switching up our weekend line-up, for the first time ever Cool FM's weekends will see more than see 50% female representation.

Katharine Walker returns to the Cool Saturday show alongside Stuart Robinson & Deputy Dave, as well as hosting her own show on Sunday's afternoons (1pm-4pm).

Taking over from Katherine on the weekend nightshift will be two top young presenters – Evanna Maxted and Ciara Ewing!

The girls have been working hard behind the scenes at Cool for the past few months and we cannot wait to hear their on-air debut this weekend.

As recent media graduates from the University of Manchester, both of the new presenters are obsessed with radio and are excited to start their on-air journey in September.

Ciara Ewing (23) who is originally from Glasgow but now splits her time between Belfast and Dublin added: "This is a fantastic opportunity and I’m simply chuffed to be part of the Cool FM team."

"As Northern Ireland’s biggest commercial radio station, Cool FM is constantly looking for new ways to reinvigorate our output and to create new opportunities for presenters. This is all part of our commitment to deliver the most relevant content to our many listeners on air and on connected devices. It’s great to see an increase in female representation with the addition of Ciara and Evanna and it’s also exciting to see Katharine taking her next steps forward.

"We are looking at the next generation of NI radio voices right here and as a media company, it’s great to be able to create these opportunities."
