Castlederg nurse wins £25,000 Cash Call on what should have been her wedding day
Rachael & Adam become the latest in series of big money winners

Rachel Monteith should have been walking down the aisle on Saturday but she still has a massive reason to be smiling.
An NHS nurse at Omagh Hospital , Rachel just became the latest winner of the Downtown / Cool FM ‘Cash Call’ worth a staggering £25,000.
Rachel who lives with her fiancé Adam Wilson in Castlederg, Country Tyrone is now planning a massive honeymoon after she eventually ties the knot next May.
Speaking after her win, Rachel said “this is going to take time to sink in, we were so disappointed at having to postpone our wedding because of COVID but winning the Cash Call today has more than made up for our disappointment”
“We had paid a few deposits but we were still saving for the rest of the wedding – we really wanted a big wedding with all our family and friends and because we couldn’t do that we had to postpone it until 2021”
“Picking up the Cash Call now means we can pay off the wedding and have an amazing honeymoon – we’ve always wanted to go to Las Vegas but we would also love to visit New Zealand – so we might do both now!”
An NHS Nurse, Rachel added “we are a great wee team at Omagh Hospital, we have all found it really tough over the last while and today was just a lovely surprise that has lifted all our spirits after a tough couple of months”
Fiancé Adam, who works for NI water popped the question 9 years ago during a Galway break, is now planning a celebratory party with some friends on what would have been the couples big day.
Adam said “We actually forgot we had entered Cash Call and almost missed the call as Rachel had her phone on silent but we heard the vibration just in time, then when Rachel answered she turned to me to check the amount was definitely £25,000 and that’s when we knew we had won”.

The Cash Call has paid out over £1 million pound to lucky winners in Northern Ireland over the past year and recently give away the largest ever amount won on local radio when another NHS worker from Dundonald won £35,000 back in May.
