Ariana Grande has paid a touching tribute to the youngest victim of the Manchester terror attack, Saffie Roussos, on what would have been her ninth birthday.

Saffie was one of the 22 people to tragically lose their lives when a suicide bomber detonated an explosive device in the foyer of the Manchester Arena on 22nd May.

Saffie had been to see her idol Ariana on the night and now the singer has paid a touching tribute to the youngster.

Taking to Instagram following her show in Buenos Aires, Ariana shared a picture of herself on stage and wrote, 'Saffie, we're (thinking) of you baby', next to a birthday cake emoji.

Saffie would have celebrated her ninth birthday on Tuesday 4th July.

As well as Saffie, 21 other people were killed in the tragedy with many others suffering life changing injuries from the explosion.

Not long after the attack, Ariana and her team returned to Manchester to visit some of the victims in hospital.

Ariana and her manager Scooter Braun shared snaps of Ariana with her fans.

This morning Ariana's brother and former Celebrity Big Brother star Frankie Grande appeared on Good Morning Britain to speak of his sister's strength.

Speaking to Ben Shepherd and Susanna Reid, Frankie said, "The thing that she did was so powerful, she took something that was filled with darkness and she was a beacon of light, and she shed that light on to the planet and it was unbelievably powerful."

He added, "So we are living in the light right now, which I think is where we need to be. She is so inspirational… I’m so proud of her for that.”

Frankie returned to Manchester with Ariana when she put on One Love Manchester, a star-studded charity concert to raise funds for the victims of the attack and their families.

Recruiting the likes of Little Mix, Coldplay, Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus, Ariana and her team managed to put on an amazing show to pay tribute to those that lost their lives.
