At Aegon, we’re committed to supporting our community and our three nominated charities are nominated and voted for by our colleagues.
Margaret McGinnis, our E-learning Manager in HR tells us why she nominated Cash for Kids to be a 2015 nominated charity.
"I nominated Cash for Kids as it’s a charity that helps to alleviate the effects of child poverty for all disadvantaged children, particularly those with special physical needs or learning needs. It’s a local charity with a high profile that anyone in the area can apply to for help, whether individually or from a group or organisation."
"For Aegon, it fits well with our work in the community to improve child wellbeing through Breakfast Clubs, volunteer team days for playground initiatives and our schools’ tennis programme which opens up the sport to children who may not otherwise get the opportunity to participate."
"It’s also a charity that encourages our people to get involved in a wide variety of fundraising activities throughout the year, whether it’s cake-baking, dressing as a superhero for a day or taking part in fun runs. On a personal level, I know people who have volunteered in the past and the events are always well organised and fun with the focus on the people who will benefit from the money raised."
