Coronation Street actor Shayne Ward and his girlfriend Sophie Austin announced their engagement over the Christmas period, and now the pair have revealed the cute way Shayne popped the question.
Speaking to OK! Magazine, the happy couple revealed details of the moment, with Sophie admitting she was seriously caught off guard and was in her pyjamas at the time.
She said, "In the past, I had told Shayne that if he was ever going to propose I would love my family to be there. We were stood in the hallway - I was wearing pyjamas and my hair was tied up with a pair of knickers!”
And it seems Shayne, who plays Aidan O'Connor in the ITV soap, listened to Sophie's request as the pair revealed both of their families were present for the proposal.
As if this wasn't cute enough, Sophie's dad played the couple's favourite song 'I've Dreamed Of You', for Shayne to then ask his girlfriend for a dance before popping the big question.
Sophie revealed, "Once the music started, Shayne came over and asked if he could have a dance with me. I suddenly though oh crap, he is going to ask me in front of everybody. I know it sounds weird as I’m an actor but I don’t like being the centre of attention. But it was the perfect ending to our lovely Christmas."

The actor took to Instagram to reveal the exciting news in December, with a photo of Sophie's hand showing off a very sparkly diamond ring. Alongside the snap he wrote, '#MrsWardtobe'.
It comes after Shayne and Sophie started dating in 2016. Just a few months into their relationship, the couple announced they were expecting a baby and welcomed a baby girl called Willow May in December 2016.
Announcing the news at the time, proud dad Shayne wrote on Twitter, 'Proud to share our incredible news. Me and Sophie had a beautiful baby girl. We are completely besotted and in love with the deepest of hearts. Our world. Willow May Ward.'
The couple are yet to reveal any further details about their wedding, but Shayne did state he is a big fan of TV show Don't Tell The Bride. So could we see the couple on the new series? 🙈
