Man, 70, attacked by group whilst walking dog in Bathgate

The Pensioner was verbally and physically assaulted

Police are looking to track down a group of men who attacked a man in his 70's in Bathgate.

The incident is said to have happened around 6:20am on Sunday April 30th.

It happened in the Pyramids business park in the town.

The pensioner was walking his dog when three men approached the man from an opening leading to the public footpath that crosses the M8 Flyover bridge from Blackburn where they proceeded to verbally and physically assault him.

The men were observed to run away towards the direction of Blackburn Road/Wester Inch, Bathgate across the dual carriageway (A7066).

All three males are described as in their early twenties with local accents and wearing dark hooded tops with hoods covering their faces and dark coloured jeans.

Sergeant Craig Wilson said: “Our enquiries into this incident are ongoing and we are working to trace those involved.

“I am appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the males running away, or who may have seen anything suspicious around this time to get in touch.”
