Police probe mysterious death after man found dead on busy Edinburgh road

Police in Edinburgh have launched an investigation after a man died on a busy road in the capital on Monday morning.

Officers were called to a report of concern for an individual on Glasgow Road at 07:45am.

The death is being treated as unexplained but there don't appear to be any suspicious circumstances.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.45am on Monday, 29 April, 2024 we were called to a report of concern for a man on Glasgow Road, Edinburgh.

“Emergency services attended however he was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The death is being treated as unexplained but there do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
