The capital is gearing up to welcome thousands of runners as the Edinburgh Marathon Festival gets underway.

There are a host of events taking place over Saturday and Sunday including the 10K, Mini Marathon, Half Marathon and Marathon.

The event - which started in 1982 - starts at Potterow in the old town, snakes through the city centre, down to the coast and out to East Lothian, finishing in Pinkie playing fields in Musselburgh.

Over 30,000 runners will take part in all the different races, including our very own Hope Webb, who is running her first marathon.

So she went for a jog with race director Neil Gilgour to get an idea of what to expect on Sunday.
