Dave Stewart's 'Eurythmics Songbook: Sweet Dreams 40th Anniversary Tour' has started
He has female musicians to 'pay homage' to Annie Lennox

Dave Stewart, best-known as one half of the Eurythmics, announced a European tour earlier this year, including two dates in the UK. The tour started on 7th November in Switzerland and sees him perform a full length show of Eurythmics' hits accompanied by a full live band.
Following his first night of the tour, Dave took to Instagram to share a video, showing his performance, accompanied by an all-female band, performing Eurythmics hits.
Fans have been commenting on it, with All Saints singer Nicole Appleton writing: 'Amazing!🔥❤️', and another fan writing: 'Sooo much fun ❤️🔥'.
Dave's first UK show takes place in Sunderland on 10th November, followed by London on 17th November.
Back in September, Dave took to Instagram to share details of the tour. He shared the tour poster, which listed the songs fans can expect to hear performed on the night, including: 'Love Is A Stranger', 'Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)', 'and 'Who's That Girl?'.
Announcing the tour, Dave captioned his post: 'Looking forward to this , I love performing these songs.I spent 1,000’s of hours crafting them in the studio and had the best partner in Annie but she has said she won’t be touring anymore which I totally understand but I love our songs and I love playing live so I have selected brilliant all female musicians and three wonderful female vocalists.I promise a stunning show full of memorable songs 🎶'. Speaking about the new tour he added: "I love playing live shows and am so excited to be onstage with this amazing lineup of musicians and singers most of whom I have performed with on many occasions.
"My great friend Vanessa Amorosi an Australian legend known for her powerful vocal prowess, RAHH a brilliant artist/singer from Warrington with whom I’ve recorded and performed with for nearly 10 years and my daughter (Annie’s goddaughter) Kaya Stewart who was singing 'There Must Be An Angel' on Annie’s knee since she was five-years-old and since 14-years-old has performed 100s of solo shows wowing crowds with her very soulful and emotional voice.
"Choosing a band that are all outstanding female musicians led by the brilliant keyboardist Hannah Koppenburg is my way of paying homage to my great friend and collaborator Annie Lennox."
The tour has been described as 'an unforgettable experience, featuring state of the art production and visuals, and a myriad of mega-hits'.
This year, the Eurythmics celebrate 40 years since the release of their second album 'Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)', and this tour is seen as a continuation of their celebration.

Madness
Madness, the band behind 'One Step Beyond' and 'Our House' have announced they'll be going on tour in 2024 for a 19-date summer tour - with dates running from June to August.
Pet Shop Boys
Pet Shop Boys have announced an extension to their 'Dreamworld – The Greatest Hits Live' tour with June 2024 dates. They will be performing in Glasgow, Nottingham, Birmingham, Manchester and Belfast.
