Country sensation Dolly Parton has certainly had a strong return to music over the past few months, as she was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, announced a rock album, worked on collabs with other huge names in music and now she has released a new song!

The new track, which is called 'Don’t Make Me Have To Come Down There' was shared on Dolly's 77th birthday on 19th January.

Along with releasing the song, she made a video addressing fans explaining the inspiration behind the song. She said: "It's a song that kind of came to me in a dream and I felt like it was worth putting out there, something special, well it's special to me."

She continued: "I had a dream about God standing on a mountain looking down at us saying 'Don't make me have to come down there' and it woke me up. I got up, I started writing this song and over a period of weeks, months I finished it as things would come to me, and I just felt like I should drop it on my birthday. So, I hope you enjoy it."

As well as bringing out this new country track, Dolly has something very different in the works in the form of her upcoming album 'Rock Star'. The album is due to come out this autumn, and she has been teasing details about the record including some of the songs she will be covering and the artists she will be working with.

In a recent update, the '9 To 5' singer revealed that music legends Cher, Stevie Nicks and Paul McCartney would be among those featuring on the new album.

That's not the only collabs Dolly has been working on though, as she teamed up with Debbie Harry, Belinda Carlisle, Gloria Estefan and Cyndi Lauper for a new track. Titled 'Gonna Be You', it is the theme song for upcoming film 80 for Brady which hits cinemas in February.

Dolly has also recently worked on a song called 'Peace Like A River' with Dionne Warwick, so it's safe to say we'll be hearing a lot of new music from Dolly this year!
