Heather Small announces first new album in 16 years
'Colour My Life' will come out this summer
Soul singer Heather Small has given us numerous big hits over the years as a solo artist and as part of 90s group M People. Following her 2022 tour, she has announced the release of a new album as well as releasing a new single.
Heather's last album 'Close to a Miracle' came out in 2006, so it's no wonder fans are excited to hear new material from the singer. Titled 'Colour My Life' the album is due to come out on 29th July, and is available to pre-order now.
Heather announced the news on Instagram, writing: 'EXCITING NEWS ALERT! I'm so proud to announce my new album 'Colour My Life' will be released on 29th of July and my brand-new single 'Love Me or Not' is OUT NOW!!!'
She also shared some more details about what fans could expect from the album, adding: 'I've teamed up with award-winning producer Rupert Christie and the London Metropolitan Orchestra to reimagine all of my Top 10 hits from M People as well as singles from my solo career - with some brand-new tracks too. I can't wait for you all to hear it!💛 💛 You can pre-order the album.'
Working with the London Metropolitan Orchestra and award-winning producer Rupert Christie, the 57-year old singer has recorded orchestral versions of some of her biggest tracks including 'Moving on Up', 'How Can I Love You More', 'Search For The Hero', 'One Night in Heaven' and title track 'Colour My Life'.
As well as these songs, the album will also include a cover of Paul Weller's 'You Do Something To Me' and track 'Don't Look Any Further' with singer Alfie Boe.
To make the announcement even more exciting, the 'Proud' singer also released her new single 'Love Me or Not' ahead of the full album release today (26th April).

Fans will be able to see Heather perform live again later this year as she has several gigs planned, including performances at Rewind Scotland, Rewind North, and Rewind South, in July and August.
