We're just a over a month away from Christmas, and not only has Mariah Carey kicked off the countdown to the big day, she's now announced a new Barbie doll. The doll features Mariah Carey dressed in a long, red sequinned dress, with a large silver broach, and a microphone in her hand.

The doll is also wearing red high heels and has large silver earrings and a butterfly ring. Mariah told PEOPLE the dress is based on the outfit she wore for the second 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' music video.

Sharing the photos on social media, Barbie and Mariah received a lot of positive comments about the new doll.

One fan commented: 'I can “hear” this photo.😂 “It’s TIIIMMMEEEEEE.”', (sic) with another saying: 'Her butterfly 🦋 ring . The details 😍'.

Barbie and Mariah also shared a short video showing the doll secretly putting some presents under the Christmas tree.

Speaking to PEOPLE about the new doll, Mariah said: "As a little girl, I didn’t have a lot of toys or things, the one thing I really wanted was Superstar Barbie."

Going on to add: "When I first started working with the people at Barbie, they sent me a bunch of Superstar Barbies and it was really sweet."

The singer also opened up about working with the team behind the doll, giving them some feedback on it. She said: "I had some notes, yeah. The hair, other things, but when I saw my doll, I was like, 'Oh my gosh, this is so cute.' Because it's based on the Christmas dress that I wear in the second 'All I Want for Christmas Is You' video, which was directed by Joseph Kahn."

However she noted there is one main difference between the dress on the doll and the one in the video. "They wouldn't let the 'V' in the dress be quite as low as it is in the video," she laughed: "But I understand because it's a holiday and everything else."

The singer recently opened up about writing her Christmas classic. Talking to Sam Rubin on This Morning, Mariah said: "No, I didn’t (know it would be a hit). Normally when people ask me the ‘did you know’ type thing, I pretty much say ‘yeah I had an idea or I knew’ but with this, I didn’t know."

Mariah also explained her vision for the song, saying: "When I first wrote it, I wanted it to be timeless. I didn't want it to be something that felt like a specific year - I wanted it to be something that I could have heard as a little kid growing up."
