Unreleased Paul McCartney demo tape expected to sell for £10,000

We all know that The Beatles were legends, so it's no surprise that any memorabilia from the band, or its members will generate a lot of interest.
Now, a Liverpool-based auction house has listed an unreleased demo tape of Paul McCartney's and it looks set to have a starting price of £8,000, with hopes it will fetch £10,000.
According to Omega Auctions, the tape is: 'A Maxell C-60 audio cassette with handwritten labels, contents including a demo version of 'Attention', which was written by Paul McCartney and recorded by Ringo Starr on the 1981 album 'Stop and Smell The Roses'.
'This version here is four minutes and two seconds and is simply Paul McCartney recording with piano and vocal percussion accompaniment - both by McCartney. The audio quality is excellent and it is an incredible listen from start to finish.'
The auction house has also posted a video of the tape and a clip of the audio on YouTube.
The rare demo tape will go on auction at 10am on Tuesday 26th April and those interested in the tape can bid through the Omega Auctions website.
This exciting find comes just a couple of days after it was announced that undiscovered musicians will be able to write and perform in Paul McCartney's childhood home. The initiative was set up by Paul McCartney and his brother and called The Forthlin Sessions, named after house's location at 20 Forthlin Road in Liverpool.
The iconic house has been owned by the National Trust since 1995 and became a listed building in 2012.
Paul McCartney has also been confirmed to headline Glastonbury 2022. The last time he played at the festival was in 2004, when he performed Wings and Beatles hits.

Def Leppard frontman Joe Elliott was born and raised at 61 Crookes Road in Sheffield. Ahead of Def Leppard's homecoming gigs at The Leadmill and Bramall Lane in May 2023, Joe visited the property. John Lennon’s childhood home
Now a lovingly restored Grade II listed building preserved by the National Trust, John Lennon lived at 251 Menlove Avenue in Liverpool with his Aunt Mimi from 1945 to 1963. It featured on the cover to Oasis single 'Live Forever' in 1994 and in 2000 it was adorned with an English Heritage blue plaque.

Sir Paul McCartney's childhood home at 20 Forthlin Road in Allerton, south Liverpool. It became a listed building in 2012 and is owned by the National Trust. The Trust markets the house as "the birthplace of the Beatles" as it was where McCartney and Lennon penned the earliest Beatles songs.
