Legendary artist Prince formed The Revolution band in 1979 and performed with them for several years. One of their most legendary performances took place in 1985 and the concert film from this show has now been remastered and is set for reissue.

Described by Prince as: "One of the most powerful concerts I've ever attended" the show took place at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, New York on 30th March 1985 as part of Prince's 'Purple Rain' tour. The gig was live broadcast internationally before being released as Prince and The Revolution: Live. The concert film was even nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Music Video, Long Form in 1986.

As part of the announcement - made on the 37th anniversary of the show - Prince's estate also released a remastered video of the music legend performing 'Let's Go Crazy' at the concert.

Watch Prince and The Revolution perform 'Let's Go Crazy':

In a statement BrownMark of The Revolution said: "Listening back to that Syracuse show, I’m like, wow, we sound like a freight train just coming out of nowhere.

"That was powerful. I’ve been to a lot of concerts, and I’ve never seen anything like that."

The reissued film has been remastered by Legacy Recordings, and will be available on Blu-ray as well as on vinyl, CD, and streaming services for the first time.

There is also a Collector's Edition available, which comes in a luxe foil box with purple, red and gold vinyl, 2 CDs, the Blu-ray video as well as an expansive 44-page book containing previously unseen photos from the 'Purple Rain' Tour, new liner notes with stories and memories from The Revolution members, and a poster.

Prince and The Revolution: Live will be released on 3rd June 2022 and you can pre-order it now.
