Following the success of spin-off series Celebrity Race Across The World earlier this year, BBC bosses have now confirmed they've renewed the show for a second series!

After series one became the biggest factual BBC franchise of the year so far, Catherine Catton, the BBC's Head of Commissioning for Factual Entertainment and Events, said: "We would like to thank our cast for putting their heart and soul into it, and we are delighted with the reaction, particularly from young audiences on iPlayer. We are very much looking forward to working with Studio Lambert on the next series."

Although there's no word yet which celebrities will take part in series two, four famous faces signed up to take part in the first series, alongside their family members.

McFly star Harry Judd was joined by his mum Emma, All Saints singer Mel Blatt appeared alongside her mum Helene, British racing driver Billy Monger took part alongside his sister Bonny, and Good Morning Britain's Alex Beresford was joined by his dad Noel.

After six episodes, it was Alex and his dad Noel who won the show, travelling from Marrakesh in Morocco, to the finish line in Tromsø, Norway.

When does the second series start?

Filming for the second series is set to take place in 2024, with the show expected to air later in 2024.

Tim Harcourt, Creative Director, Studio Lambert says: "Audiences seem pleased that the difficult and disarming undertaking of the Race was not watered down for well-known personalities and their loved ones.

"We are thrilled to be making another series for the BBC."

Series one of Celebrity Race Across The World is available on BBC iPlayer now, with series two expected in 2024.
