Man, 22, arrested following 'disturbance' in Galashiels

A 22-year-old man has been arrested following a disturbance in Galashiels.
Locals report armed police swooped on the Gala Park area of town yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon, around 4.25pm.
And the area was sealed off.
Officers say there was no risk to the wider public.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 4.25pm on Tuesday, March 19th, to a report of disturbance in the Gala Park area of Galashiels.
“Officers attended and the road was closed as a precaution. There was no risk to the wider public.
“A 22-year-old man was arrested and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
