Warning to drivers after car fire causes ‘extensive damage’ to Cornwall’s A30
A lane near Temple will be closed for resurfacing until Tuesday morning (6th July) and motorists are being warned to expect long delays
A stretch of Cornwall’s A30 will be closed for the next few days after a huge fire.

Highways England says the blaze caused extensive damage to the carriageway between Bodmin and Colliford Lake.
One of the eastbound lanes will be closed for resurfacing until Tuesday morning.
The closure has already caused congestion and delays on Friday and Saturday.
Highways England South West is urging drivers to allow extra time for their journeys or find another route.
Highways England South West said: “Drivers wishing to use the eastbound A30 are advised of heavy congestion in the area due a lane closure to the west of Temple, between Bodmin and Colliford Lake.
“This is due to a vehicle fire which has caused extensive damage to the road surface, which will need a large amount of resurfacing.
“An inspection has taken place, and due to the sheer amount of resurfacing needed, this work will take place on Monday evening, meaning the eastbound lane closure will remain in place until Tuesday morning”.
On Saturday afternoon, Highways said: “There are currently long eastbound delays on the approach to the lane closure and drivers in the area are advised to allow extra time for their journeys or seek an alternative route if possible”.
