Will Smith: Devon's crime boss says Academy have "condoned violence"

Devon's crime boss has spoken out against the Academy - Hollywood's most famous guild - following last Sunday night's drama at the Oscars.
During the ceremony, Will Smith slapped comedian Chris Rock on stage after he made a joke about his wife's appearance.
Alison Hernandez says the actor should have been "immediately removed" after the incident.
The Police and Crime Commissioner has described it as "disgraceful" - adding that in her view, the audience and Academy have "condoned violence".
Will Smith has now resigned from the Academy, describing his actions as "shocking, painful and inexcusable".
The move means he won't be able to vote - but could still be nominated and win awards in future.
PCC Hernandez made this statement on Twitter after the news broke about his resignation: "The Academy have yet to act. He should have been immediately removed that night and his membership suspended.
"If it was any of us we would have been. The audience and Academy have condoned violence in my view. Disgraceful."

The Academy says it accepts the resignation of Will Smith and says it will "continue to move forward" with disciplinary proceedings.
