Almost 150 people have now signed an online petition calling for a Devon bus route to be reinstated - or adapted further.

It was started by Frankie Rufolo who worries the 'P bus' no longer serves some parts of Exeter such as Isleworth Road.

He said: "At the top of the hill you've got a lot of bungalows, there's a lot of elderly people.

"There's an old lady in Okehampton Road who tells me how convenient it was to be able to get the bus to Cowick Street and St Thomas, and local shops and to the city centre.

"You're living up high on the hill you can be a bit cut off from the rest of the city - and a lot of elderly people and disabled people are feeling that now.

"A lot of other people - such as mums with shopping and push chairs - have been inconvenienced by Stagecoach changing the route."

A spokesperson for Stagecoach South West said: "We always welcome feedback from customers on the routes we offer, the Stagecoach network is continuously under review so that we can best serve the local community."

The changes started in October and while the new P route 'improves access to local healthcare facilities' buses no longer stop on Okehampton Road, Isleworth Road and Charnley Road. The firm said at the time: "Journeys are retimed to reduce travelling times for passengers, and the timetable is simplified to make timings easier to read."
