Police have declared a major incident after the discovery of what's thought to be an unexploded World War Two ordnance in a garden in Plymouth.

Officers were called to an address in St Michael Avenue at 10.30 this morning (Tuesday 20th February)

A two hundred metre cordon's been put in place, and residents are currently being evacuated.

A Royal Navy bomb disposal team are at the scene.

Police are advising people to avoid the area.

The Devonport Neighbourhood Policing Team says anyone needing shelter following the evacuation can go to North Prospect Library
