A lorry has been destroyed in a fire on the A352 at East Stoke.

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue, along with Dorset Police, were called out at around 10.52am today (Wednesday 21st June).

The truck was well alight when firefighters arrive, with crews from Wareham and Poole tackling the blaze.

The driver was looked over by paramedics as a precaution, due to possible smoke inhalation, but is OK.

The fire was put out by around 1.00pm, but the road remained closed until just after 2.00pm.

Recovery of the lorry and some investigation work into the cause of the fire has been carried out.

Bus services between Wareham and Wool were diverted while the road closure was in place, but are now getting back to normal.
