In honour of Cash for Kids Superhero Day we're taking a look at our region's local heroes!

In celebration of Cash for Kids Superhero Day, we take a look at some of the region's top heroes!

1. The Bee Lady

Described as 'human dynamo', much loved charity fundraiser Jean Bishop is better known as 'The Bee Lady'. At 93 years young, Jean has raised over £100,000 for charity and was honoured with a striped phone box in Hull City Centre!

2. Luke Campbell

Gold Olympic Boxer and proud Hullensian, Luke Campbell MBE rose to fame after winning Gold at the 2012 Olympic Games! A true national treasure.

3. Gogglebox's Jenny & Lee

Since 2014, best friends Jenny & Lee have starred in Channel 4's Gogglebox, welcoming the cameras to Jenny's holiday home in Patrington Haven Leisure Park. There's a lot of love for our Jenny & Lee.

4. Paul Spence

After suffering a brain injury in 2012, local hero Paul Spence has set up a charity to support others affected by brain injury. What an amazing guy!

5. Louise Drewery

The first person in the UK to donate a kidney to a total stranger after seeing an appeal on Facebook was Louise from Scunthorpe!

6. Paul Matson

Paul Matson, the Hull builder and ex-serviceman on a mission to transform derelict houses in Hull for ex-veterans to rebuild their lives. A true hero!

7. Connor Lynes

At just 14 years old, Connor Lynes suffered a fatal blood clot to the brain after a Rugby game. A year on since the injury Connor has raised thousands for the charities that supported him and has now set up his own charity to raise awareness.

8. Graham Boanas

Remember this local business man crazy enough to wade across the Humber... more than once?!

9. Hull Batman

Remember this caped crusader? Local gas engineer Simon Moreton from East Hull, AKA Hull Batman, has raised thousands for local vulnerable and needy children.

10. Zara Holland

Miss Great Britain herself, Zara Holland was crowned in 2015 and continues to fly the flag for Hull!
