Lady Gaga performed for Stevie Wonder alongside a star-studded line-up in a special tribute to the singer last night (10th February).

The ‘Bad Romance’ singer was on hand to perform ‘I Wish’ and was joined on the line-up by artists such as Tony Bennett, Beyonce and Ed Sheeran.

However following the performance Gaga expressed her delight at being able to meet Stevie Wonder. She took to Instagram to post a picture of the two embracing, alongside the caption:

“I Wish" for just a moment I could talk to my 6 yr old Stevie lovin' piano playin self, and tell her how lucky I would be to honor such an important figure in music. A man who stands for love, Civil Rights, and like he said tonight..showing the world the impossible is possible.”

Stevie Wonder was hailed on the night for his outstanding contributions to R&B, soul, pop and jazz for over half a century.

He was also praised for his civil rights work, most notably his push to get Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday made a public holiday in the US.
