19-year-old killed in Immingham crash was "my best friend", mum says

The family of a 19-year-old boy who died following a crash in Immingham on Tuesday have named him as Lewis Tuson.

Lewis was involved in a collision with a car on Harborough Road, between the junctions of Brocklesby Avenue and Calder Close at around 20:50GMT.

He was taken to hospital, but died a day later.

Paying tribute to Lewis, his mum said: “Lewis wasn’t just my son, he was my best friend. He was kind, so smart and just an all-around lovely person. He was an amazing big brother and friend, and we will all miss him dearly”.

Daniel Johnsen, 34, of Ashtree Close, Immingham was charged with driving when above the alcohol level limit and was remanded to appear at Grimsby Magistrates Court yesterday (Thursday 1 February).

Following his appearance at court he was further charged with causing death by dangerous driving and remanded into custody.

Police have also referred themselves to the watchdog over the crash.
