New album celebrating 30 years of Tina Turner's soundtrack album 'What’s Love Got To Do With It' out now

A new special edition album has been released, celebrating a massive 30 years since the release of Tina Turner's biopic film and soundtrack, named after her hit 'What’s Love Got To Do With It'. And in celebration of the milestone, several versions of the album have been released.

Taking to Instagram back in February to reveal the exciting news, Tina Turner's official account shared a video, captioning it: 'In celebration of the 30th anniversary of ‘What’s Love Got To Do With It’, a brand new collection of special edition albums will be released on 26th April, featuring the fully remastered album, unreleased tracks and other rarities. The box edition also includes the full Live from San Bernardino show in 1993, on CD/DVD for the first time plus a poster and 24-page booklet.

It continued: 'A never-heard-before acapella version of ‘Proud Mary’, taken from anniversary edition, is the brand new single, available to stream now.'

Following this news, fans have been leaving excited comments with one writing: 'Awesome news! The box and its content looks incredible 😍👏'; another fan wrote: 'A dream🔥❤️🙌😍😢😢'.

The film What’s Love Got To Do With It was a biopic about Tina Turner and released in 1993. It starred Angela Bassett as Tina, and Laurence Fishburne as her husband Ike Turner. On release the accompanying soundtrack album became a Number 1 hit in the UK, featuring a number of Tina's iconic songs such as 'A Fool In Love' and 'I Don't Wanna Fight'. The album also featured 'Disco Inferno' and 'I Might Have Been A Queen'.

What formats are the new albums available on?

Fans of Tina will be pleased to hear that there are several new special edition albums available from 26th April. There will be 4CD/1DVD Deluxe (30th Anniversary Edition), Digital Deluxe (30th Anniversary Edition), 2CD (30 th Anniversary Edition), 1LP Vinyl - 2023 Remaster and Original Album (digital) - 2023 Remaster.

In addition to these new albums, they have also released a never-heard-before acapella version of ‘Proud Mary’, which has taken from the anniversary edition.

They were released on Friday 26th April 2024.

Johnny Cash - 'Songwriter'

More than 30 years after they were recorded, 11 previously unreleased songs will be available for fans to enjoy. The album 'Songwriter' has been co-produced by Johnny son John Carter Cash, and music engineer, who worked with Johnny, David 'Fergie' Ferguson.

David Gilmour - 'Luck and Strange'

Serving as his first album of new material in nine years, Pink Floyd musician David Gilmour will be releasing his fifth solo album 'Luck and Strange' later in 2024. It will feature a surprise appearance from the late Pink Floyd keyboard player Richard Wright, from a recording from 2007. The album was produced by David Gilmour and Charlie Andrew.

Lightning Seeds - 'Tomorrow’s Here Today: 35 Years of Lightning Seeds'

Release date: 4th October 2024
