Cruise Ship on route to Essex starts search for missing crew member
Search underway for missing Crew Member aboard the Ambassador Cruise Liner 'Ambience'
Ambassador Cruise Line has confirmed that one of its crew members was reported missing earlier today (Friday, May 3).
The ship, Ambience, was en route from Lisbon to begin a round-the-world cruise and would dock at London Tilbury after it's completion.
It departed Portugal yesterday afternoon at 3:25 PM local time.
A spokesperson said: "The crew member was reported missing shortly after breakfast today, May 3, and could not be located at the beginning of their working day"
"The coastguard was informed after a full and thorough ship-wide search was conducted, and Ambience has now reversed course to retrace her route to the sea area where the crew member was last seen."
"Ambassador is committed to the safety and wellbeing of all our crew and guests," the spokesperson emphasized. "The search for the missing person is ongoing and remains our utmost priority."
