Police appeal for information after Greenock assault

Officers are appealing for information following the assault of a man in Greenock.

The incident happened around 12.50am on Sunday, 7 April, 2024, at the corner of Nicolson Street and West Shaw Street, Greenock.

Emergency services attended and a 50-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment.

The suspects are described as three males, all had their hoods up. One is described as wearing a white hooded jumper and one a purple hooded jumper. They left in the direction of Nicolson Street and Finnart Street.

Detective Constable Jennifer Kane said: “Our enquiries are ongoing and I am appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this incident or have any information to contact us.

“I would also appeal to anyone who was driving in the area and who may have dash cam footage or any private CCTV which could assist to get in touch.”
