Harrogate drug dealing suspect sent to court within 24 hours of arrest

A Harrogate man has been charged and sent to court within 24 hours of his arrest on Thursday afternoon on suspicion of drug dealing.

The 45-year-old was arrested in the Montpellier Hill area of the town at around 3.20pm on Thursday by officers from North Yorkshire Police’s Operation Expedite team.

He was charged in the early hours of Friday morning with supplying heroin and possessing criminal property (cash suspected as being obtained through drug dealing)

He was due to appear at York Magistrates’ Court on Friday morning.

North Yorkshire Police say tackling county lines drug dealing is a priority for them, and Expedite teams work proactively to prevent and detect drug dealing and associated offences. They also work to safeguard and protect those who are vulnerable and targeted by organised crime networks.
