Charities across North Yorkshire say they're on hand to help those struggling to make ends meet. With energy price rises many say they're expecting it to be their busiest Winter on record.

Julie D'ascanio is the centre manager at 'The Village' in Harrogate. They give out baby essentials and school uniforms and says it's been a really busy time. "Just in the couple of hours we've been open this morning we've had eight or nine families come in who have been really grateful. With the cost of living going up, we're really happy to take the donations that we get and give them out to people who can use them."

With our bills set to increase again Julie says they're starting to see a lot more people who are in full-time work still struggling financially "Wages don't seem to be helping with the cost of living so any little help they can get means they can put more food on the table for their kids.

The Village is also planning on hosting a "Uniform Open House" before every new school term to help support families. Volunteers say previously they would give out school clothing following a referral, but now they're offering sessions where anyone can come in and pick up supplies.
