'Overwhelmingly positive' news could see Worcester Warriors back at Sixways

Professional rugby could return to Sixways sooner than expected - following a 'pre-packed' administration agreement being agreed for Worcester Warriors.

Reports suggest the firm that own the club has been sold again - with the club's Supporters Trust calling it an 'overwhelmingly positive step forward.'

No rugby has been played at the stadium since the club went into administration in 2022.

On their website, the Worcester Warriors Supporters Trust gave their opinion on the plan - they say:

"The Supporters' Trust has been aware for some time that the silence regarding the future plans at Sixways Stadium was due to be broken. WWST welcomes this morning's overwhelmingly positive statement from owners Loxwood Holdings.

"In particular we are in support of the Pre-Pack Administration of Atlas Worcester Warriors Limited. To quote a previous owner, it is in the interests of the club and the supporters to have a "fresh start without a toxic brand." The dissolution of Atlas is a fundamentally important factor in moving on from the shambles of the last 18 months.

"The board feel strongly and unanimously that it is now time for supporters to get behind both the new ownership and new investors in the club and to ensure that we do all we can to galvanise the local rugby community. We will continue to work with Loxwood Holdings and the new operating company of Worcester Warriors to enable our primary aim, the return of Worcester Warriors to Sixways Stadium."
