A vigil is taking place later in memory of a 12-year-old girl who was killed in Liverpool City Centre.

Hundreds of people are expected to gather outside Primark on Church Street at 6PM tonight to pay tribute to Ava White.

Its been organised with the blessing of her family, and her favourite songs will be played, as well as buildings, including the Radio City tower which will light up dark blue at 6:12pm.

Anthony Goudi has organised the event and believes that it will bring the city together.

"I want to do something to help this family", said Anthony.

"Whether that's financially with donations, or whether that's bringing the whole city together. We're doing both. By bringing the whole city together the family can find strength in strength.

"We can't bring Ava back, but what we can do is show that family the whole city is behind them and we are here for them, and we feel her, not the way they feel her, but we feel it too.

"It'll be overwhelming because they're going to know everyone is there for their baby girl. Everyone is there for Ava, and that's going to be an emotional rollercoaster for them. Look at all those people that are there for our Ava, and they didn't even know most of them, but they're still here. They still turned up and want to show respects for her."
