Megastar Ed Sheeran has cancelled the first night of three big gigs in Sunderland this summer, as part of his 'The Mathematics Tour'.

In an email to ticket holders a "scheduling conflict" has been blamed.

Ticketmaster broke the news to fans this morning (Wednesday 27th April):

"We regrettably must inform you that due to an unforeseen scheduling conflict the show at Sunderland's Stadium of Light on Thursday 2nd June is unable to take place. We're still very excited for the Friday and Saturday gigs."

People have been given the option to attend one of the other gigs or be refunded.
