The M5 is likely to remain closed all morning between Tiverton and Wellington.

There's currently three miles of delays in both directions after an incident just after 530 this morning.

A spokesperson for National Highways confirmed 'emergency services remain at the scene' after the incident at 5.37am.

They said: "Delays are currently at least 30 minutes in both directions.

"National Highways is advising drivers to plan ahead, follow the signposted diversions and allow extra time for their journeys while the closure is in place."

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police were called at around 5.30am to reports of a serious collision involving two vehicles on the M5 Northbound between junctions 26 and 27.

"One person is reported to have sustained injuries and the road remains closed whilst emergency services remain at the scene.

"There is currently a complete closure on the M5 from junction 29 northbound and junction 26 southbound. Highways are assisting with putting diversions in place and traffic within the closure will be aided to move when possible."
