Devon's Air Ambulance charity say they attended a record number of missions in 2023.

They went to 2226 incidents in the county, alongside some in neighbouring Cornwall, Somerset and Dorset.

1176 were trauma-related callouts, whilst 1040 were to assist with medical emergencies - with cardiac arrests continuing to be the most frequent health issue they were called to.

The charity also say helicopters were deployed to 1333 incidents, whilst a critical care car attended to 814.

The number of patients treated increased by over 12% from 2022.

The charity say they'll also be focusing in 2024 on increasing awareness about the dangers on Devon's roads.

It's after it remained their most attended incident - with 307 tasks in 2023.
