All schools and education settings in both Wiltshire and Hampshire have been advised to close today (Friday 18th February) as parts of the counties have now been issued a red weather warning.

Some parts of South Wiltshire and most of West Hampshire have see the alert level upgraded from amber due to Storm Eunice.

A Red warning indicates a significant danger to life, as extremely strong winds provide the potential for damage to structures and flying debris.

Meanwhile, Amber means there is the possibility of travel delays, road and rail closures, power cuts and the potential risk to life and property.

No matter which area you live in, Wiltshire Council are advising everyone in the county to not travel unless their journey is essential.

They're working with waste contractors regarding waste collections and household recycling centres.

Any updates will posted on Wiltshire Council's Twitter or on our Greatest Hits Radio Salisbury news page.

Anyone who spots a tree down or another obstruction on the highway can report it via the MyWilts website.
