Breamore Ward is being closed for 'essential maintenance'

A ward at Salisbury District Hospital is undergoing essential maintenance from today (Thursday 22nd September), meaning it's closed to patients.

People who would have been on Breamore Ward are being transferred to South Newton Hospital while the work's being carried out.

We're told any affected patients would be those with low medical care needs, waiting for discharge home.

26 beds will be available to SDH at South Newton at any point, which could mean more patients are moved there over a six to eight week period.

CEO of the Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust, Stacey Hunter said:

“This arrangement will allow the hospital to continue to deliver the same level of care while essential maintenance is completed. The NHS will continue to deliver the care with NHS staff and free to all patients. We are grateful to Renovo Care who have worked in partnership with us.”
